Operation: Job Ready Veterans Receives Grant
from the Judd Leighton Foundation
Indianapolis, IN (July 13, 2020) – Operation: Job Ready Veterans (OJRV) is pleased to announce it has recently received a grant from the Judd Leighton Foundation.
OJRV will be using funding to provide vital transition readiness training and job placement support to an underserved population of veterans, service members, and military family members in South Bend, Indiana. We began offering our employment transition training and support in St. Joseph County in May 2014, and their hope is to continue bringing this valuable service to veterans in the vicinity of South Bend, Indiana in addition to the support offered in our Indianapolis-based headquarters. This is the second grant OJRV has received from the Judd Leighton Foundation.
OJRV will be providing the following job search assistance and employment readiness services to military veterans, service members, and family members with this grant funding: transition plan development; career interest and work value assessments; career coaching; resume assistance; federal resume support; cover letter guidance; job search assistance; networking strategies, including introductions to potential employers; interview preparation and coaching; strategies for successful onboarding; employment readiness training; placement and retention support; and social media utilization.
“We feel privileged that the Judd Leighton Foundation has awarded us funding again. We truly appreciate their generous support, and we are certain they will continue to make a lasting impact on many Indiana veterans,” said Gene Anderson, Executive Director of OJRV.
