OPERATION: JOB
READY VETERANS

Bridging life’s transitional gaps for Veterans, service members, and military families.

What We Do

Operation: Job Ready Veterans™ (OJRV) is a Midwest-based nonprofit organization dedicated to positively impacting the lives of Veterans, service members, their families, and their communities by providing transitional, career development, and employment services. We assist Veterans and family members of all eras and ability levels by empowering them to meet their individual career and education goals. We do so by providing a wide range of services and assistance that target our clients’ immediate needs. OJRV stands out from other Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) by providing services not only to veterans and service members but to their families as well. If you have worn the uniform, then you and your family will receive our support. We honor your service and the sacrifices made by your family with our unwavering commitment.

Veterans Employment Transition Seminar

This is our flagship service and most transformational offering.  This week-long training provides our clients with a complete understanding of the challenges they have encountered with their transitional issues. It also offers them the tools to achieve their career goals, get connected to resources, or seek further education/certification.  Once the Veteran or family member completes our seminar, they are connected with quality employers at our onsite hiring fair.

Life Coaching

Individuals can engage with our experienced staff to identify and resolve specific transitional issues and get connected to resources.  Those resources cover all facets of life issues such as housing, healthcare, income support, sustenance, and educational benefits.

Employment Workshops

These focused 1-3 day group training modules address specific needs such as skills inventory, career interest inventory, work values assessment, resume development, and interview preparation.

i

Disability Claims

We assist clients in the preparation, presentation, and processing of disability claims to the Veterans Administration (VA). We also ensure that appropriate workplace accommodations are implemented with our  Ticket-to-Work program.

Community Connections

Through our long-standing relationships with community organizations and other nonprofits, we can educate and refer clients to resources they didn’t know were available to them.  We understand how challenging it can be to know which resources are most beneficial and we can provide immediate assistance.

Career Placement

We can connect job seekers with government and commercial hiring managers via our networking connections at the federal, state, and local levels.  Our customized service provides quality referrals for our clients based upon their work experiences, education level, and specific skills.

First Impressions Workshop

We offer a specialized, three-hour workshop only addressing mock interviews, healthy living techniques, and professional attire opportunities. During the workshop, in-depth mock interviews are provided for clients who are seeking additional assistance with perfecting their interviewing skills. Additionally, no-cost pre-interview haircuts and beard trimmings are provided to all attendees through community partnerships. These services instill personal confidence and provide a well-groomed professional appearance for attendees. Through partnerships with organizations such as Men’s Wearhouse, we are able to provide professional interview attire to those attendees who do not have the financial means to purchase interview attire.

How We Can Help

Veterans Employment Transition Seminar (VETS)

Have you decided to change careers?  Are you tired of working in a job that doesn’t value your input?  Our training helps you understand if your skills and interests align with your career goals.  Job fulfillment can be achieved when employees are challenged, appreciated, and valued partners in any workplace.  We first help you confirm if you’re working in the right field, then construct a professional resume that highlights your qualifications.  For each Veteran, we help translate your military experience into civilian terms.  Once that is completed, we provide you with interview techniques that will ensure you present yourself as the perfect candidate for any position.  Take charge of your career and connect with us today!
