FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Operation: Job Ready Veterans Hires Receives 2020 Hire Vets Medallion Award from U.S. Department of Labor

Indianapolis, IN (November 18, 2020) – U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia recognized Operation: Job Ready Veterans (OJRV) as one of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award recipients during an award ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor. OJRV earned the Gold Award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

“OJRV was established to bridge life’s transitional gaps for veterans, service members, and military families, and we have always made it a priority to have a leadership team that is full of veterans and military spouses who understand the needs of our clients,” said OJRV Operations Director Patrick Drabick.

OJRV joins 674 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, that have shown a commitment to hiring veterans and ensuring they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

“We feel honored that we are being recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor among these other valuable organizations for veteran-focused hiring efforts. As OJRV grows our team, we will continue to ensure we are hiring team members who are representative of the clientele we serve,” said OJRV Executive Director Gene Anderson.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs, with requirements varying for large, medium, and small employers.
