FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Operation: Job Ready Veterans Earns Renewed Support from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 2, 2026) – Operation: Job Ready Veterans (OJRV) is proud to announce a new grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust in support of career transition services for veterans, service members, and military families living in Marion County, Indiana. The award marks the Trust’s sixth investment in OJRV’s work and allows the organization to keep its one-on-one services free of charge to the military-connected community it serves.
“Support from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust has shaped what we are able to offer veterans in central Indiana, and this latest award lets us keep that promise to them,” said OJRV Executive Director Dr. Gene Anderson. “Behind every grant is an individual sitting down with one of our Employment Transition Managers, figuring out what comes next after service. We are grateful the Trust continues to see the value in that work and to stand with the men and women who have earned it through service to our country.”
“For nearly 20 years, Operation: Job Ready Veterans has helped veterans transition from military service to civilian careers and life in Indiana,” said Gene D’Adamo, president and CEO of the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. “We appreciate their dedication to supporting veterans and their families as they enter the workforce and pursue their employment goals.”
Trust funding will support a dedicated Employment Transition Manager (ETM) position serving Indiana, allowing OJRV to deliver its One-on-One Career Transition Services program to more veterans and military families in Marion County. Through the program, the ETM works directly with each participant to build a plan around that individual’s goals, skills, and obstacles. Support includes resume and cover letter development, targeted job search strategy, interview preparation, professional networking, guidance on using LinkedIn and other online platforms, and practical help addressing the personal barriers that can stand between a veteran and steady employment. The goal is to help Marion County veterans and military family members move into stable, meaningful employment by providing consistent, one-on-one access to career support close to home.
The work funded by this award sits at the center of OJRV’s mission to bridge life’s transitional gaps for veterans, service members, and military families. Leaving the military often means translating years of training into language civilian employers recognize, rebuilding a professional network from scratch, and absorbing rejection along the way. OJRV’s staff, all of them veterans or military spouses themselves, walk clients through that process step by step until they find a career that fits.
