FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

OJRV Receives 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award from the U.S. Department of Labor

Indianapolis, IN (October 31, 2024) – U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized Operation: Job Ready Veterans (OJRV) as one of the 839 recipients of the 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. OJRV earned the platinum award after applying earlier this year. The platinum award is the Department of Labor’s highest award level for the HIRE Vets Medallion Award program, an honor only 320 recipients received this year. This is the fifth consecutive HIRE Vets Medallion Award recognition for OJRV and the fourth consecutive platinum-level award. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

“We are honored to be a multiple recipient of the HIRE Vets Medallion Platinum Award,” OJRV Executive Director Gene Anderson said. “To have our efforts to bridge life’s transitional gaps for veterans, service members, and military families recognized by the Department of Labor energizes us. We seek to ensure that every veteran and military family member can transition to civilian employment opportunities after their time of military service ends. This recognition affirms that we are successfully meeting our mission.”

OJRV joins 838 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, that have shown a commitment not only to hiring veterans but also to ensuring they have a long-term career and growth plan that utilizes the diverse skills acquired through their military service.
Recipients of the 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation; and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,600 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2019.
