Since May 2021, Dr. Christie Lodics, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, has served as the women veteran program manager for the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. In her current role, she is responsible for ensuring timely, equitable, high-quality, comprehensive health care services are provided in a sensitive and safe environment. Christie oversees overall delivery of care and services to a growing population of women veterans.
Christie is a graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. While working as a nurse, Christie received the coveted Daisy Award for exceptional care. Christie pursued a family nurse practitioner degree from Indiana State University and began caring for family practice patients. In 2017, Christie moved to the VA, helping to care for women in the gynecology department. Her love of education and her passion to advocate and improve health care for all led Christie to pursue a clinical doctoral degree. In 2021, she graduated from Chamberlain University as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). During the COVID-19 pandemic, Christie deployed three times to care for veterans and non-veterans. She continues to dedicate her professional life to the advancement of clinical research and care for women veterans.
Christie believes strongly in community involvement. She instills her knowledge in the next generation as a guest lecturer at Butler University, Purdue University, Indiana University, and Indiana University-Purdue University. She serves as a high school mentor, foster parent, career mentor with the Focus Forward Fellowship program through the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University, and now as a member of the OJRV Board of Directors.
A transplant from California, Christie is passionate about her adopted hometown. She loves the outdoors, became a first-time grandmother in 2023, and lives by her motto that laughter is the best medicine.
