“My biggest challenge in finding a career opportunity after the Army was identifying remote positions that matched both my skills and my salary expectations. One of the most valuable forms of assistance I received from Operation: Job Ready Veterans was help updating my resume and translating my military experience into terms that civilian employers could understand.

Having a well-tailored resume that clearly outlines my qualifications and strengths has helped me remain employed and, more importantly, given me the confidence to know that I am marketable to future employers.

In the Army, I served as a financial management specialist, and I now work as a financial analyst support contractor. In this role, I support military treatment facilities by maintaining their budgets, reviewing monthly projections, tracking spending, and managing contract funding. This position aligns perfectly with my previous experience as an S8 NCOIC at the headquarters level in the Army.

I am grateful to Kristal Watts for her guidance in organizing my resume and helping me find the ideal position. She has been an incredible support, and I truly appreciate her efforts.

My personal motto at this point in my life is ‘Happening for me, not to me.’ I choose this because it reminds me that even when life doesn’t go according to plan, God has already written my story and knows what I need before I do. I’ve learned to trust that every challenge is an opportunity to grow, either for my own personal development or to be a testimony of God’s goodness.”
