“I was looking for a position for so long that aligned with my passion and my very creative background and found out about the services provided by Operation: Job Ready Veterans. When I called, I had no idea if I could receive any help from them since I was not a veteran. I had been trying to get into the film industry for about 10 years, and I continually had the door slammed in my face. But when I found out that they would help me because I grew up in a military family, I was super excited. Because of this help I received, which was updating my resume, completing a mock interview, getting help with interview strategies, and creating a cover letter, I landed a job that I have been trying to get for a very long time in the film industry. I worked with Kristal Watts through this process, and no matter how much I emailed and called her, she was extremely helpful, honest, and very knowledgeable. Thanks to her, I begin my new position on Monday and in the field that I have dreamed of for a very long time. Kristal was patient, thoughtful, and super smart; she was an amazing mentor for me during this time.
