“After separating from the USMC, my biggest challenge was finding a long-term career. Initially, I lacked an understanding of the civilian job market, certain skills, and a degree, all of which made it difficult to secure higher-paying jobs. Additionally, mental health issues hindered my ability to thrive in work settings.
With the help and tremendous support from Kristal Watts, my Employment Transition Manager, I was able to transform my resume into a more desirable one. Kristal provided interviewing courses, networking opportunities, and guidance toward numerous career fairs.
As a result of this assistance, I have gained confidence in my resume and interview skills. I successfully landed a position as a computer lab technician with the CWT program. While I am looking forward to even better opportunities, I am incredibly grateful for the support from OJRV and the Call of Duty Endowment. I am more confident in my abilities and very grateful for my Employment Transition Manager, Kristal Watts. She is the most patient person I know.”
