“The biggest challenge I faced when looking for a job after leaving the military was adjusting to the civilian culture. I felt that it was a bit of an adjustment with the lack of structure. Everything is so different for civilians. The Employment Transition Manager (ETM) I was assigned to at OJRV was very instrumental in helping me update my resume so that I could apply for positions without the fear of rejection. I also took the professional resume writing course that OJRV offers as a supportive service. I was very impressed with the help received, and when I submitted my resume for the first time, it was a tremendous difference. Directly after transitioning from the military, I obtained a job in telecommunications, and I have recently accepted a position as a financial crimes analyst.

My ETM was great to work with; she has answered all my calls and questions no matter what they were and no matter how many times I have asked them. I feel good about where my future is headed with my new employment thanks to the wonderful support and help I have received from OJRV.
