“Partnering with Operation: Job Ready Veterans has shown to be vital in my employment process, as I needed employment. Knowing that I engaged with someone who was a Veteran, first off, made me feel that he understood me and was vested in my employment/career goals. My representatives, Gerrie Jackson (Recruiting Manager) and Darron Hardy (Employment Transition Manager) collaborated with me by giving me the program’s objectives and told me what to expect from the organization moving forward. While doing so, Mr. Hardy coached me on where to apply rather than instructing me to just apply for jobs. I love the fact that my representatives collaborated with me and followed up consistently to see how I was doing. Working with my OJRV representative in drafting my resume, I was able to find employment within my desired skill set, above my desired pay range, with a company that I really do like and can see future growth with. I even expressed the want to develop my federal resume, and Mr. Hardy gave me realistic expectations that could be done if I so chose.
