“My biggest challenge finding a job after leaving the Navy in 1992 was finding something in the civilian world that offered the same true teamwork as the military. In my previous job with DCS, I had a lot of mandatory driving and the wear and tear on my vehicle was really extreme. While [I was] struggling with gas prices and in between jobs, John and his organization came to my rescue with gift/gas cards from Walmart and for that I am forever grateful. I work as an independent contractor for DCS, but I am now changing back to a logistics position with PepsiCo. Organizations like Operation: Job Ready Veterans and Call of Duty help us Veterans when other groups cannot. There isn’t a lot of red tape, and that makes them extremely effective. My motto these days is ‘Live out your dreams and goals. Not your history.’”
