FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Operation: Job Ready Veterans Receives Charitable
Gift from the Lilly Endowment

Indianapolis, IN (March 30, 2022) – Operation: Job Ready Veterans (OJRV) is pleased to announce it has received a $450,000 charitable gift from Lilly Endowment Inc.

OJRV will be using this funding to strengthen job placement services and career transition support for veterans, service members, and military families in Indiana. To support the placement of these individuals, OJRV will be providing one-on-one career transition services and programs designed to illuminate pathways to employment and translate clients’ military skills to corresponding civilian equivalent skills, positioning them to gain the attention of hiring professionals and giving them an edge in the hiring process.

Among the in-demand services OJRV will be offering are one-on-one resume revision, cover letter development, interview coaching, and job search assistance. OJRV will be providing multiple program offerings as well. The Virtual Veterans Employment Transition Seminar (VETS) includes four online modules focusing on topics such as transition skills, value proposition statements, and civilian resumes. OJRV’s First Impressions Workshop and the Federal Resume Workshop address subjects like mock interviews and USAJOBS profile development.

“We feel honored that Lilly Endowment has recognized a need among veterans throughout Indiana and continues to steadfastly support our mission to place veterans into careers. It is because of the dedicated efforts of supporters like Lilly Endowment that we are making a profound and transformative difference in the lives of our veterans,” said OJRV Executive Director Gene Anderson.

During the past eight years, Lilly Endowment has funded OJRV efforts to place thousands of veterans, service members, and military family members in meaningful employment. With this support, OJRV is building a community committed to getting veterans back to work.
