About Kim
Kim Dart
Employment Transition Manager – Indiana
Kim Dart serves as an OJRV Employment Transition Manager for the state of Indiana. In this position, she works with veterans, transitioning active-duty members, and their families who are seeking gainful employment. She helps them establish goals and pursue career-building opportunities. Kim knows her “Why” in her professional life because she’s been where many veterans are and understands the feeling of workplace dissatisfaction and has experienced extended periods of unemployment while desiring career transitioning and seeking purposeful professional opportunities. She believes her purpose is to tap into what her clients truly desire and assist them in making it happen.
Kim served honorably in the U.S. Air Force within the Medical Groups as a dental assistant journeyman at RAF Upper Heyford, UK and Charleston AFB, South Carolina. Upon transitioning from the military, Kim worked in various industries including medical/dental administration, banking, home lending, insurance claims, and network marketing ventures. She was also a stay-at-home mom for several years, raising two children with special needs. During that time, Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Concordia University Wisconsin. She is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt understanding Continuous Improvement methodologies. Her goal is to return to higher education and pursue her master’s degree.
She attended the Indianapolis Veterans Employment Transition Seminar (VETS) course in 2020 and came away feeling more confident in her resume writing and interviewing skills. The most significant take-away for her was reclaiming her power in the interview process because she realized she wanted to work in an environment where she belonged, not just anywhere that provided an income.
Kim is a single mom of two young adults and is a true Midwesterner at heart, having lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, and now Indiana. In her off time, Kim actively participates in her church and loves spending time with her family and close friends, traveling, and attending music concerts and sporting events.
