About Cathy

Dr. Cathy Buyarski serves as the executive associate dean of University College at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, overseeing programs and services that promote student success by helping students develop meaningful pathways to graduation. She helped found and now oversees the IUPUI Degree Completion Office and the Office of Transfer Student Services, both of which support students in returning to and completing their college education. Cathy’s approach to student success includes both supporting individual students as well as advocating for institutional change to build structures and systems that support degree completion. She has a deep commitment to providing educational equity and collegiate access and support for underserved, under-resourced, and underrepresented populations. She earned her PhD in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
